Rising Popularity: Visitor Numbers Soar by 18% in Georgia's Top 5 Protected Areas

In 5 months of 2024, the most visited protected areas: Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon, Sataflia, Mtirala National Park and Tsalki Canyon, were visited by a total of 153,730 visitors, which is an increase of 18% compared to the same period last year.

The number of visitors to protected areas across Georgia has increased by 4% compared to last year. Among the visitors, 39% are Georgians, and 61% are citizens of other countries.

The Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture continues to develop ecotourism in the protected areas of Georgia, as a result of which visitors are met with appropriate infrastructure for safe and comfortable travel.
